Access to quality healthcare is one of the many luxuries that we tend to take for granted. Unfortunately, these services are often restricted outside metro areas which can lead to genuine hardship for the families and communities living in the bush. To service this need, the RFDS has a team of medical clinicians and pilots who are dedicated to providing fast, free and efficient 24/7 medical care to rural and remote regions across Australia including, emergency retrievals, GP health clinics, dentistry, telehealth and medical chests.
Our journey through the Kimberley’s in 2021 highlighted the many obstacles faced in providing timely medical services to these remote regions. As such, I am proud to support this essential organisation and hope that our contribution will help to purchase and medically-equip aircraft and, in turn, reduce the disparity of healthcare services between city dwellers and those living in remote communities.
